Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, and Knutsford throws itself into the celebration with gusto.

Over ten days, buildings, tours and hidden places open their doors — most of them free — giving you the chance to explore the town’s remarkable architecture and stories from the inside.

From guided walks to rarely-seen interiors, it’s a wonderful way to uncover the layers of history beneath a town famous for its Georgian and Tudor charm.
